“on the 18th May 1991, 2 artists, Russell Lake & Jeanelle Hurst started cutting & pasting & folding 3 cars with the texture, colour, scale, movement, sound, body, drama, fiction, friction, humour, heat, heart & soul of our sprawling metropolis”
“on the 29th May the 2 artists stopped work”
“catch the HOT OFF THE PRODUCTION LINE LAUNCH OF THE POLYMEDIA CAR CONSTRUCTION before the 3 cars are shredded, boxed and shipped to Japan for recycling”
“Polymedia Car Construction was funded by the First Festival Fringe and sponsored by Pacific Car Park, ABC Spare Pars, Planet Productions, Brisbane City Council, Brisbane Transit Centre, Qld Toy & Hobby and the Paddington Hardware.”
“BYO drinks & we’ll supply the hot potatoes”
Site location: Pacific Car Park, cement slab adjacent to the escalator, corner of George & Hershel Sts Brisbane City.
